Lent: Forty Days. Forty Actions.

Follow the link for ideas and actions that can be done in your personal life, in the classroom or in the parish as a way of bringing the Mission of the Catholic Church into your experience of Lent. Be creative. Learn about projects around the world. Communicate with people who share your love of God. If possible, make a donation in support of the efforts being made in the name of Jesus Christ. Every act makes a difference.

What is MISSIO?

MISSIO is the official online platform of the Holy Father’s own Pontifical Mission Societies that allows people to sponsor a fundraiser for an overseas Mission project or embrace an existing project located in some of the 1,100 Catholic Dioceses of Africa, Asia, Oceania and Latin America. Platform users can also show support by donating directly to a project or sharing information about projects via social media.

Who is behind MISSIO?

Pope Francis launched MISSIO (the mobile app), from the Pontifical Mission Societies in May 2013 as a way to disseminate news of the heroic work being done over the world by Missionaries, local clergy and lay people. The latest version of MISSIO – expanded to include a new website – makes connecting with people and projects directly so much easier.

Is MISSIO for you?

Missio offers you a place to encounter the Missions whenever and wherever you are. Launched by Pope Francis, MISSIO offers you a direct connection with his Missions and with those helping our mission family. Missio is an opportunity to choose how to put your faith into action, and a way to answer the call to each one of us who are baptized to be missionaries ourselves, through prayer and sacrifice, in word and deed.
