General Description:
The Director of Advancement and Marketing is responsible for creating and implementing communication, marketing, public relations and fundraising strategies.
The candidate will have extensive experience in digital, print, visual, and social media. It is also necessary for the candidate to cultivate and nurture all levels of donor relationships and have familiarity and adeptness with donor databases and gift processing. It is important for the candidate to have a strong understanding and respect for the Catholic faith and the mission of Assumption Catholic Schools.

Education/Experience: College degree or equivalent work experience in development, marketing, communications, or a related field. Experience with annual and special capital campaigns desirable.
Project Leadership: Experience in planning, leading, and managing projects—includes collaboration with peers to achieve desired outcomes, tracking and reporting on progress to stakeholder groups.
Entrepreneurial Spirit: Takes initiative and actively seeks to deepen current donor relationships and forge new ones.
Communications: Written and oral skills to support fundraising and marketing. Understanding of use of social media and other platforms to promote Assumption Catholic Schools.
Collaboration: Effective at working with others to reach common goals and objectives.
Relationship Building: Skilled at cultivating strong relationships with all stakeholders.
Areas of Responsibility:
Under the direction of the president, the Director of Advancement:
Works with ACS administration, Education Commission, Assumption Foundation, Athletic Association, and Assumption Endowment to establish fundraising goals, implements strategies to successfully achieve those financial goals. Reviews and reports progress toward goals with stakeholder groups.
Works with the president to establish, direct, and oversee an annual advancement plan; manages the annual calendar of fundraising campaigns, events and activities involving alumni, parents, and other stakeholders for Assumption Catholic Schools.
Assists in developing a planned gift program encouraging bequests, and other planned giving opportunities in support of ACS, Assumption Foundation, and ACS Endowment. Process donations for ACS, the Assumption Foundation and the ACS Endowment. Provides acknowledgement and receipts to all donors.
Supports the scholarship programs of the Assumption Foundation and Assumption Endowment by assisting with the mailing of award letters, updates to donors on their supported scholarships and processing any new donations.
Provides monthly updates to the president, controller and education commission on the status of advancement, marketing and relations.
Creates and maintains a data base of donors; identifies major gift prospects and assists in cultivating them.
Alumni director: Coordinates requests for school tours and maintains communication with other members of the administration team for activities/events that may be of interest for inclusion in the annual report and promotion through ACS channels. Keeps president informed of planned class reunions and coordinates involvement of the president and others at these events if requested.
Builds and maintains positive relationships with potential funding sources, including alumni, parishes, businesses, community organizations, and others with an identifiable interest in funding Catholic Education.
Develop grant funding from agencies that fund Catholic Education.
Implements a variety of communication modes for public relations, marketing, and fund raising. ACS website, social media, newsletter to stakeholders such as current families, staff, Deanery and alumni.
Works with the president, administration team and graphic designers to maintain and update all ACS marketing materials and distribute them.
Serves as ex-officio member of Assumption Catholic Schools Education Commission, Assumption Foundation, and Assumption Endowment.
All other reasonable duties related to the position as directed by the president.
