Director of Faith Formation
Works in collaboration with Pastor and Parish Faith Formation Committee to design, implement and manage catechetical programs in accordance with the principles enunciated in Church documents and Archdiocesan policies.
Recruits, trains and supervises volunteers and aides to conduct the parish’s catechetical programs.
Facilitates training and certification of volunteers in Safe Environment and maintains related documentation.
Manage Sacramental Preparation for Baptism, First Communion, First Reconciliation, Confirmation and RCIA and maintain related documentation.
Provide timely communication with parents regarding program events, policies, and outcomes.
Organize and supervise Youth Group and activities, Vacation Bible School and other programs such as Youth Mission Trip and Confirmation Retreat.
Manage and direct various collections for the less fortunate (example: school supply drive and Bethel House Toiletries Drive) and organize fund raising activities for Youth Mission Trip.
Develop comprehensive calendar and arrange for the use of facilities for all aspects of the catechetical program and coordinate this with the parish’s master calendar.
Prepare annual budget and oversee expenditures after its approval by the Finance Committee.
Attend parish staff meetings and faith formation commission meetings to update members on matters pertaining to the catechetical program, submitting reports as requested.
Maintain membership in diocesan DRE organization and attend annual catechetical conference and other appropriate conferences.
Qualifications
¨ Master (preferred) or Bachelor’s degree in religious studies or currently working toward a degree.
¨ Fluency in English and Spanish.
¨ Strong leadership and administration skills.
¨ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
¨ Computer skills.
