Overview: The FFE Director collaborates with the Pastor in the work of evangelizing and in the work of catechizing the evangelized within and beyond our vibrant 850 household parish nestled in the heart of Stevens Point and adjacent to the UW-Stevens Point campus. This position has administrative as well as direct ministry components as described below.

General Responsibilities:

  1. Co-leads with the pastor in the work of moving the parish from maintenance to mission. The parish is one year into implementing the vision of the Divine Renovation movement begun by Fr. James Mallon.
  2. Leads in assessing the faith formation needs of parish members and reviewing the effectiveness of current programming.
  3. Recruits and trains catechists and coordinators for ALPHA, FF, and Youth Ministry as needed; works with coordinators and teachers to develop curricula; assesses teacher effectiveness; designs and conducts programs to help parents and catechists grow as animators of faith.
  4. Attends to proper communication with parents, teachers, and students through emails, brochures, bulletins, parish web site, letters to parents, and other media as appropriate.
  5. Collaborates with all staff members, including participation in a weekly staff meeting.
  6. Is staff support to the parish Faith Formation Ministry Committee and attends its monthly meetings.
  7. Maintains a good working relationship with area parish Faith Formation staff and Youth Ministers, as well as those on the Diocesan and state level.
  8. The Director practices their faith and is active in the parish.
  9. Maintains a budget for Faith Formation Ministries.
  10. Communicates with maintenance personnel to insure that facilities are prepared to meet program needs.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  1. Supervises the volunteer coordinator of Children’s Liturgy of the Word.
  2. Supervises the volunteer coordinating team of K-5 formation which includes sacramental preparation.
  3. Supervises the volunteer coordinator of middle school (6th – 8th) ministry.
  4. Supervises the part-time coordinator of Adult Faith Formation.

Coordinator Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinates the Confirmation Program and High School Ministry.
  2. Coordinates evangelization efforts, including ALPHA. Updated 4-1-2022

Term of Employment:

On an average this position is 40 hours per week though any given week may be more or less and requires evening and weekend hours. The Faith Formation and Evangelization Director will meet regularly with the pastor for oversight, planning, and communication. Annually the director will be evaluated by the pastor.
