Primary Function: The Assistant Director of Religious Education and Youth Ministry assists the director in administrating the St. Patrick Parish catechetical program and provides leadership to assist our faith community in building a solid foundation of catechetical ministry. This includes assisting the Director of Religious Education (DRE) with curriculum planning, volunteer recruitment, worship and event planning, and youth ministry events. Specific assignments will be assigned by the DRE. This position reports to the pastor and the DRE/YM.
The salary will be around $45,000.

Minimum Qualifications
Be a practicing Catholic in good standing and faithful to the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Have a love of our Catholic faith and a passion for sharing the joy of the Gospel and the love of Jesus Christ.
Flexible work schedule which includes evenings and weekends.
Be able to take direction from the DRE and work with the DRE as a team.
Have a reasonable knowledge of the teachings of the Catholic Church.
In person evening and periodic weekend work shifts are required.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

General
Assist in coordinating and overseeing major Religious Education, Sacramental, and Youth Ministry events and ceremonies.
Assist in planning and overseeing Vacation Bible School and other summer activities.
Maintain regular communication with the Pastor and DRE.
Perform special tasks as requested by Pastor or DRE.
Be present to youth, parents, and volunteers at St. Patrick Parish.

Religious Education
Provide administrative support and assistance to DRE for all Religious Education.
Teach weekly Wednesday Religious Education classes and Confirmation classes.
Assist with Sacramental Preparation for Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation.
Assist with Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA) classes.
Assist in maintaining accuracy in our Sacramental Records.
Maintain regular correspondence with volunteer catechists and provide requested materials and resources when necessary.

Youth Ministry
Assist the DRE/YM in providing opportunities for personal and spiritual growth for youth.
Assist the DRE/YM in the planning and leadership of our annual summer camp trips.
Assist the DRE/YM in planning our annual Confirmation retreat.
Help maintain and oversee our parish and deanery youth groups.
