The Head Maintenance position is a part time/ or full-time position. This person is responsible for
organizing and supervising a maintenance program that provides the Immaculate Conception Parish
campus with a safe, clean, and functional environment. This person may be asked to coordinate projects
though a planned program of improvements and preventive maintenance for the campus buildings,
grounds, and related projects.

Physical Demands: Continual standing, walking, pushing, and pulling, frequent stooping, bending, lifting
(up to 50 lbs.) and carrying. Moderate exposure to extreme hot and/or cold temperatures.

Particular Job Requirements
1. Coordinate weekly event use of facility with Parish Pastor and Immaculate Conception School
Principal to include set up of the gym, auditorium, Klink Hall, Church, and other rooms when
they are to be used for events.
2. Manage school security system and procedures.
3. Ensure that fire extinguishers and AEDs are inspected regularly and properly charged.
4. Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the heating, plumbing and water, and
electrical system.
5. Responsible for organizing and supervising routine cleaning, yard work, and building and
facility maintenance.
6. Responsible for presenting to the Chair of Building and Grounds a summer maintenance
program that includes major repairs, preventive maintenance, and cleaning requirements.
7. Work with Chair of Building and Grounds Committee to develop and maintain short and
long-term planning documents.
8. Responsible for organizing, coordinating with outside contractors, accessing appropriate bids,
and supervising all preventative maintenance and renovations.
9. Responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks such as shoveling, sweeping,
mopping, dusting, polishing, room set-ups, general repair, snow removal and plowing, and
cleaning of lavatories.
10. Assist in the selection, supervision, and evaluation of assistance maintenance workers,
summer maintenance employees, and volunteer workers.
11. Responsible for inventory, safe use, and care of equipment.
12. Demonstrate a cooperative manner, a willingness to work where needed, and assistance
until assigned jobs are completed and contribute to positive interpersonal and
interdepartmental communication.
13. Deal with emergent or problem situations in a calm, tactful, professional manner.
14. Demonstrate support of fellow employees and administration through actions and
comments.
15. Demonstrate confidentiality of Immaculate Conception matters.
16. Responsible for other duties as needed to ensure a safe, secure, and clean facility is
maintained.
