Position Summary:
This position is responsible for the preparation, production and maintenance of client parish financial records through the use of the Diocese of La Crosse centralized financial software. Provides client parish financial information to the Shared Services Supervisor and assists client parish leadership in fulfillment of their parish, Diocesan and regulatory reporting requirements. This position will be working with the Stewardship and Development Department with data input and record maintenance.
Essential Functions of the Position:
- Performs verification, approval and/or posting of AP, AR and GL transactions for client parishes;
- Performs monthly reconciliation of expense, revenue and balance sheet accounts;
- Assists in the review of client parish financial information for preparation of monthly executive financial report to Pastor, Parish Finance Council and other entities as identified;
- Participates in planning, budgeting, internal controls, Audit/AUP, and regulatory mandates;
- Collaborates with the Shared Services Team, performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor to accomplish the goals of the Office.

- Extensive knowledge of office administration, clerical procedures, and record keeping systems;
- Knowledge and understanding of the Roman Catholic Church, its structure and the ministries within the Offices of the Catholic Center;
- Ability to exercise discretion, good judgment and initiative;
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office and ParishSOFT Accounting and the ability to learn new or updated software;
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision;
- Diplomatic, tactful and discreet especially when dealing with confidential matters;
- Ability to work in collaboration with others;
- Strong interpersonal skills.
Job Qualifications: (Education and Experience):
- Two-year degree in Accounting/Finance or minimum three years’ experience in Accounting, AP, AR, GL;
- Preferred: Five to seven years in Accounting, AP, AR, GL.
- Knowledge in QuickBooks Online or ParishSOFT accounting a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
