We seek a talented and devout Catholic Digital Evangelist & Marketing Specialist to join our team and play a pivotal role in reaching a global audience with the message of faith, hope and love.
Position Summary:
The mission of the communication and public relations department is to “facilitate encounters with Christ.” As a Catholic Media Evangelist & Marketing Specialist, you will play a pivotal role by combining your deep faith with social media and marketing expertise to promote Catholic teachings and engage with individuals online across digital platforms. You will create compelling content that engages different audiences with precision and purpose, foster online communities, and leverage digital and print marketing strategies to maximize outreach and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement and manage the marketing, promotion and digital engagement strategy for the Diocese of La Crosse.
• Develop engaging and informative digital content, including blog posts, articles, videos, podcasts, and social media posts, that reflect the teachings of the Catholic Church and resonate with a diverse online audience.
• Develop and nurture online communities and forums where individuals can discuss faith-related topics, ask questions, and seek guidance while fostering a respectful and inclusive environment.
• Manage and grow social media accounts dedicated to promoting Catholic teachings, including creating and curating content, responding to comments, and analyzing engagement metrics.
• Develop and implement digital marketing strategies, including online advertising, email marketing, and SEO optimization, to reach specific target audiences and expand the diocese’s digital footprint.
• Provide training and resourcing to diocesan entities on communication marketing and best practices.
• Serve as a consultant for diocesan departments and ministries in the development of promotional, marketing and social media engagement to ensure brand alignment and consistency.
• Monitor online trends and conversations related to Catholicism, track engagement metrics, and provide regular reports on the effectiveness of digital evangelization and marketing efforts.
• As needed, build and develop relationships with Catholic Life Magazine writers and assign, collect and organize stories.
Qualifications:
• Thorough understanding of Catholic liturgy, symbols, and iconography and the ability to effectively incorporate them into visual materials.
• Proficiency in digital content creation, including writing, graphic design, and social media management.
• Experience in digital marketing, including knowledge of online advertising, email marketing, and SEO.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to craft digital content across a range of platforms that are linked and focused on creating encounters with Christ.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or a related field preferred.
• Willingness and ability to act as a personal witness to the Catholic faith and religion by living both one’s professional and personal life in accordance with the doctrines and moral teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, as embodied in the various documents of the Roman Catholic Church, including, without limitation, the Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects concurrently, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and adapt to feedback.
• Familiarity with current design trends, multimedia technologies and emerging platforms.
