Position Description
Position Title: Evangelization Coordinator and High School Minister
Reports to: Pastor, DRE
FLSA: Exempt (Learned Professional)

JOB PURPOSE:
Facilitate an encounter with Jesus Christ and His Church.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Employment in and by the Church is substantially different from secular employment. Church employees must conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church. Their behavior must not violate the faith, morals or laws of the Church or the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, such that it can embarrass the Church or give rise to scandal. It is required that this employee to be an active, participating Roman Catholic.
ESSENTIAL MUSIC FUNCTIONS:
1. Develop curriculum, coordinates spaces, and work with DRE for Family Formation Events
2. Develop, coordinate spaces, supervise, and run High School youth group
3. Recruit and train volunteers leaders
4. Plan curriculum, coordinate spaces, supervise, and run High School Confirmation program
5. Recruit and train volunteers leaders
6. Coordinate and supervise Totus Tuus and Summer Stretch summer programs with DRE
7. Collaborate with DRE with organizing and executing outreach/events
8. Supervise, coordinate, and calendar adult Small Group program
9. Develop and grow Young Adult Ministry
10. Communicate regularly and professionally with parents of all programs.
11. Post and maintain Simple Church calendar for High School, Confirmation, Young Adult, and Small Groups
12. Work with DRE and Parish Office Staff to create and implement registration for families and small groups.
13. Work with Director of Music, coordinate devotional prayer opportunities, Bible Study, Rosary, Stations of the Cross, Service of Reconciliation, etc.
14. Supervise the safety of all children/youth and ensures adult volunteers have completed all Archdiocesan credentials for safety.
15. Creates and obtains written parent release forms for off-site events and electronic communication.
16. Communicate professionally with Pastor, parish leadership, and staff.
17. Work cooperatively with staff and attend Parish Staff and Pastoral Planning Team meetings.
18. Attend and participate in Lifelong Faith Formation Commission meetings
19. Work with GA Parish Communications Coordinator to promote programs and post resources on parish website..
20. Professional development- Continue education for Evangelization and Youth Ministry through reading and attending related conferences or training.
21. Communicate with Faith Formation or Youth Ministry Coordinators from other churches as well as the Archdiocesan office for possible resources, ideas, or collaboration.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Includes other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor or identified by the employee and approved by the Pastor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Caring person who is an authentic follower of Jesus.
2. Good skills for building positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries with children and adults.
3. Strong oral and written communication skills.
4. Completed college degree in theology, education, or related field, master’s preferred.
5. Ability to welcome and create a safe space for children and families.
6. Ability to work creatively and cooperatively with a team.
7. Leadership and technology skills.
8. Successfully complete background check, safe environment training, and sign Code of Conduct.
MENTAL DEMANDS:
Ability to work without supervision.
Ability to handle stressful situations.
Ability to make timely, reasoned decisions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Available to work Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings.
Position involves computer work (about 60%).
Lift church objects of up to 30 pounds.
