Mary, Mother of the Church, an active, prayerful, celebrating, Catholic community in La Crosse, Wisconsin, is seeking a part-time parish office assistant to manage the front office, create bulletins, maintain parish calendars and databases and assist staff.
Primary duties include:
-Managing the front office
-Creating bulletins & handling parish mailings
-Maintaining parish calendars
-Assisting parish staff and organizations
-Overseeing Parish Hall usage
-Maintaining parish databases
-Scheduling Mass intentions & liturgical ministries
-Facilitating sacramental prep programs, including marriage and baptisms
-Maintaining sacramental records
-Computer/technology troubleshooting skills
-Managing office supply inventory
-Selling Scrip
-Works with the Pastor
Qualifications:
1. Have the ability to operate office equipment
2. Experience with Google and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Publisher; ability to learn in-house software ParishSoft and Ministry Scheduler Pro
3. Possesses good telephone, reception, and clerical skills and experience
4. Possesses effective interpersonal communication skills, including social media
5. Ability to work well with others, maintain confidentiality, and maintain good attendance
Hours: Part-time position (28 hours/week); office hours are 8AM-3PM on Tues.-Fri.
Pay Range: $18-20/hour commensurate with experience. Benefits include paid time off including holidays, retirement option, and 10% tuition discount at Aquinas Catholic Schools, if applicable.
