“Behold, I make all things new.” – Revelation 21:5
The Month of April: The Blessed Sacrament
Spend Time in Eucharistic Adoration
Meditate on Eucharistic Prayers by slowly and prayerfully reading John 6:51-58 and/or the Last Supper accounts. You can also reflect on prayers like the Anima Christi and/or Adoro Te Devote by St. Thomas Aquinas.
Daily Consecration: Each morning, consecrate the day to Jesus in the Eucharist, offering all your actions and sufferings to Him.
Spiritual Reading and Reflection such as St. Faustina’s diary which contains powerful reflections on the Blessed Sacrament. (Free Online Version). You can find other books on the Eucharist here.
Acts of Reparation and Sacrifice such as participating in the First Friday devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, offering it in reparation for offenses against the Eucharist. Also, offer small acts of fasting or self-denial in honor of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.
Creative and Family-Oriented Ways to Focus on The Blessed Sacrament
- Eucharistic Altar at Home: Create a prayer corner with an image of Jesus in the Eucharist, a candle, and a crucifix to inspire family devotion.
- Family Adoration Time: If you have children, bring them to adoration, even if briefly, and teach them about Jesus’ presence.
- Eucharistic Procession or Pilgrimage: If there is a local Eucharistic procession or shrine, participate as a family or group.
Perform acts of mercy in honor of Jesus in the Eucharist, seeing His face in those you serve.
