Marquette Method
MARQUETTE METHOD|
Marquette Method (MM) of Natural Family Planning (NFP) is a highly effective method of NFP employing home-based fertility monitors to track women’s urinary metabolite hormone changes throughout each menstrual cycle to identify days of fertility and infertility. It is 99% effective in avoiding pregnancy when used correctly and with the expert advice of a trained Marquette instructor. Couples may attend classes in-person or online to receive instruction from a trained and certified medical professional to ensure accuracy in using the method to achieve or avoid pregnancy. The method is objective, relatively easy to learn, and typically requires less abstinence than other forms of NFP.
AVERAGE COST
Individual classes with instructor costs can range from $225-300 with follow ups included for 1 year from the start date. (Currently as a student trainer with supervision from an experienced preceptor, couples can receive instruction for $75 for the same 1 year).
Ongoing consultations fees after the 1st year may cost up to $75 for the year.
Additional costs for the Clearblue Fertility monitor (as low as $120 online), plus $18-20/month for test strips.
CLASS/INSTRUCTION FORMAT
A certified teacher will meet with you in-person or through online training to instruct you on the basic science behind MM, how to chart your patterns of fertility and infertility, how to use the fertility monitor, and interpret your observations. Class length is 60-90 minutes long. Follow-up is preferred at 1, 3, 6 and 12 months but is flexible to your learning needs.
